Who Are We?
Hellius is dying... Our sun is getting weaker and weaker by the day... Something has to be done or the planet and everyone on it will soon cease to exist. There has been much talk and theories by our scientists on ways to try to re-energize our sun, yet all attempts have been futile failures. We see now that there is only one option.... We must develop space shuttles and leave this planet while the sun is still strong enough to sustain the life. J&J Expeditions have decided to spear-head the operation, being made up of the best explorers and scientists of our planet, are thought to be the best choice to find us a new planet to call home. This journal is being duplicated and given to each section of ships setting out to the stars to remind everyone of where you came from, where you are, and to hopefully guide you to where you are going. Balista was once a rich tapestry of life, with as much diversity in the weather as there is in our people. That was quite some time ago though, slowly over the years we have watched our sun slowly wain in its strength. The first thing we notice was the weather was slowly becomming colder and the plants and animals that thrived in hot enviroments were the first to parish. The planet continued to get cold until it got to the condition it is in at the time this journal was created, a constant winter with only the hardiest of plants animals and people capable of survival. They say that it won't be much longer until the ships are ready to set off in search of new homes, and none too soon either. Our scientists estimate that Balista has less then twenty years before the sun is no longer strong enough to sustain life at which point anyone left will freeze to death. You however will not have to worry about that grim fate, for you are among the first sent out to find us a new home. May you be sucessful in your journey and find us a new place to call home. John and Jean have reported that they have found a new planet capable of supporting life, they have named it Balista. Balista is a mostly artic climate, which will not be that big of a change for us given the years we have spent adapting to the snow anyway. They have already set up a growing colony named New Balista, people have already started to travel in droves to the new colony to start new lives. The latest in the work being done on Balista is that of J&J Consortium, a division of J&J Expeditions have just opened up an exciting gambling oasis on one of the islands. In hopes of attracting more hopefuls to the artic paradise. We have just recieved the latest report from J&J Expeditions that they have discovered a large volcananic mountain range, during their exploration of the mountain they discovered an extremely large cave like a gaping mouth in the side of the mountain, as well as some natives who speak of the area being a sacred place. The crew of J&J expedition insist that if you are unafraid of the supernatural, the site is believed to be full of treasure possiblities. The time Hellius has left is quickly coming to an end.. for those of you who have still not decided where you are planning to go should make a decision pretty soon. With that being said we have yet another report from J&J Expeditions, Balista seems to be turning out as the best colony that has been settled to date, it seems that they have now uncovered an active volcano on one of the islands, a positive note for those of you who are hoping to be able to settle somewhere with a warmer climate. They mention remantants of an ancient civilization on the site which is sure to have unknown treasure and lore just waiting for treasure hunter and history buffs. This is to be the last report that we will be able to recieve from Balista, since we are in the shadow of the final months of Hellius' sun. It seems J&J expeditions are beginning to run low on funds and equipment to continue their expedition to complete their exploration of the rich land that they have settled and begun to call home. for those of you who are still undecided on your future home, you are out of time to make up your mind, the final shuttles are preparing to set out to their final destinations. Should you decide to choose to migrate to Balista, I hope to see you there in a few months, for the rest...
